Aqua
Maverick Innovation’s aquaculture division focuses on supporting cutting-edge research, product validation, and the development of next-generation farming system. We run advanced trials using Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) to improve nutrition and farming methods.
Our main RAS unit has 64 experimental tanks (300-L capacity each) and 5 rearing tanks (1000-L capacity each) along with solid separation tank, rotating drum filter, water leveler, protein skimmer, a three-chamber biofilter unit, degassing chamber, oxygen cone, and ozonation and ultraviolet disinfection units. This unit is designed to stimulate commercial aquaculture conditions while maintaining rigorous control over experimental variables, making it ideal for nutritional studies, product efficacy trials, and system optimization.
The second unit is dedicated to the RAS-based vertical nursery and farming technologies for Macrobrachium rosenbergii (giant river prawn).
We also operate a pond research facility with 84 cages (1.4 m³ each). It is used for comparative studies, field validation, and semi-intensive farming trials. Together, these facilities support feed makers, health product developers, and aquaculture startups.
Poultry
Our poultry division focuses on supporting cutting-edge research, product validation, and the poultry management practices. Our facilities are designed to support both broiler and layer research, enabling precise evaluation of feed formulations, health products, and management systems under controlled and field-relevant conditions.
The current broiler shed is naturally ventilated and divided into 64 equal-sized pens (10 birds per pen). It also has a dedicated metabolic cage unit, having 18 cages for nutrient digestibility trial.
We are expanding with new broiler, layer, and disease challenge sheds. These will allow advanced trials, including pathogen exposure under strict biosecurity.
Analytical laboratory
We are building a feed analytical laboratory for proximate analysis. It will measure moisture, protein, fat, fiber, ash, and nitrogen-free extract (NFE). This supports internal research trials and external product testing.
Microbiological laboratory
This facility will focus on profiling gut microbes and monitoring microbial shifts in response to dietary interventions in both aquaculture and poultry. This helps to develop functional feeds and additives.
Disease identification laboratory
We are setting up a lab for pathogen detection and characterization, histopathological analysis, and molecular diagnostics. It will support vaccine development and health product validation through challenge trials and histopathology.
Feed mill (Extruder/pellet)
We have installed a 200 kg/hour extruder with conditioners and a dryer. The mill includes grinding, mixing, and quality control units. It enables in-house feed production and pilot-scale manufacturing with partners.
