A Highly Effective Appetite Boosting Attractant for Aquaculture – Just published. In Aquafeed.com AquaFeed magazine.
A 15‑day trial in Nile tilapia with a randomized complete block design (RCBD) protocol showed that a yeast‑based attractant significantly increased feed intake across all supplemented diets. The trial was conducted at the Aquaculture Research Unit of Maverick Innovation.
After controlling for daily variation, dissolved oxygen, and temperature, fish fed 0.5–2.0 kg/MT consumed more than the control, with the highest intake at 2.0 kg/MT.
The quadratic model identified 0.35–0.67 kg/MT as the most cost‑effective range for achieving a 3–5% intake boost. As the article notes, “Attractant Level had a significant effect on feed intake…” and DO strongly shaped feeding behavior. A practical tool for intensive aquaculture.
