Aquaculture Morocco has concluded with insightful discussions and presentations.
The final session featured a keynote speech from Jorge Galindo-Villegas, a professor at Nord University in Norway and Chief Editor of the Aquaculture journal. He addressed targeted immune modulation in teleosts, shedding light on the mechanisms through which various metabolites activate immune responses in animals, providing valuable novel insights.
Following this, Professor Chalor Limswan from Kasetsart University in Thailand, a recognized expert on shrimp diseases, presented on WSSV, EMS or AHPND, EHP, and white feces syndrome. He offered practical solutions for detection and treatment of these diseases, highlighting that treating post-larvae at 32°C for seven days prior to release can completely eradicate WSSV.
The session continued with Abderrahim Chiaar discussing zoosanitary surveillance and Carlos Pereira Dopazo addressing the impact of climate change on fish and shellfish viruses.
